Rodd & Gunn Unveils Global Flagship at 280 Little Collins Street

Melbourne has a new destination where heritage, craft and style converge. Rodd & Gunn has officially opened the first stage of its global flagship at 280 Little Collins Street, unveiling a ground-floor retail store and the lower-ground Cellar Retail & Caffetteria.

The Cellar Experience

Descending into The Cellar reveals a moody, modern retreat that blends oversized checkerboard floors and bluestone laneways with intimate booth seating. Executive Chef Matt Lambert and Head Chef James Evangelinos present an Italian-inspired menu featuring handmade pastas, vibrant antipasti and share-style aperitivi.

Highlights include:

  • Mafaldine with wild boar ragù and pecorino

  • Lumache with spanner crab, brown butter and tarragon

  • Gnocco fritto with prosciutto di Parma

Lambert describes the philosophy simply: “It’s about consistency, respect for produce, and creating dishes that feel both primal and luxurious.”

Cocktail Innovation

At the heart of The Cellar is a Cocktail Laboratory led by acclaimed mixologist Matt Bax (Bar Americano). Here, bold seasonal distillations and infusions bring to life creations such as limoncello margaritas, seasonal spritzes and mocha martinis.

Wine with a Story

The curated wine program by Cameron Douglas, New Zealand’s only Master Sommelier, showcases boutique producers from New Zealand alongside Victoria’s leading wine regions. The collection celebrates terroir and storytelling, including the exclusive Rodd & Gunn Wine Collection, which features a Central Otago Pinot Noir, Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay and Marlborough Rosé.

Retail Meets Heritage

Above The Cellar, the flagship retail floor reflects the brand’s hallmark craftsmanship. Heritage plasterwork, marble joinery and warm timber details create an elevated backdrop for Rodd & Gunn’s apparel and accessories.

What’s Next

The opening of the Cellar and retail store marks the first stage of Rodd & Gunn’s Melbourne flagship. The Members’ Bar and Dining Room will follow in early November, completing a destination where fashion, food and wine intertwine.
